While Wahl Refractory Solutions has been in business for over 100 years, we’re far from the typical product-based refractory company.
- Wahl pioneered the use of metal fibers in castable refractories which more than double their fracture strength, which are now commonplace globally.
- Our patented high wire content refractory cermet (SIFCA®) for extremely high impact and abrasion applications has become the industry standard in the steel, aluminum, and cement industries worldwide.
- Wahl innovated the design, manufacture and use of large precast shapes for the construction of aluminum furnaces, MEGABRIX®. This technology allows for rapid construction, short dryouts, and higher levels of performance.
- Our eMAXXX® high emissivity refractory materials provide increased radiant heat transfer in high temperature gas-fired furnaces, which leads to lower CO2 emissions, increased production and lower fuel consumption.

In 2020 Wahl was acquired by Fosbel, Inc., a global leader in hot refractory repair and industrial technology service provider, and pioneers of ceramic welding technology which is used to repair glass and coke furnaces. Fosbel has been changing the way furnaces are repaired for over 40 years, and is seen by their customers as innovators and problem-solvers. Moreover, Wahl and Fosbel operate seamlessly, offering many opportunities for advancement and a diverse range of experiences, in the United States and internationally.
