HISTORY

Originally founded as Wahl Refractories in 1921 by Oscar C. Wahl, Wahl Refractory Solutions, LLC has grown to be a recognized leader in the manufacturing of high quality precast shapes and refractory castables.

As a technology focused company, Wahl Refractory Solutions offers an extensive line of versatile refractory precast shapes and castables custom engineered and manufactured with high standards.  Wahl has proven to overcome the challenges inherent in manufacturing a superior product line for demanding applications for nearly 100 years.

Wahl is the innovator in utilizing steel fibers in castable with the development of Wire-N-Cast in 1970.  Continued research efforts led to the development of the SIFCA®  (Slurry Infiltrated Fiber Castable) process, a method for producing pre-cast shapes with a high volume percent of stainless steel fibers.

In May of 2006 Cornerstone Industrial Group, LLC, a private investment firm dedicated to acquiring, owning and managing industrial companies, acquired Wahl Refractories.  Wahl Refractories is now known as Wahl Refractory Solutions, LLC.

Wahl provides engineered refractory solutions to the molten metals and minerals industries through a diversified range of precast and castable products.  Wahl is known for its MegaBRIX® Precast Furnace Linings and its SIFCA® refractory composite parts, in addition to superior products and engineered application solutions.

In 2012, Wahl acquired Whetstone Technology, LLC which was located at that time in Cabot, Pennsylvania.  This acquisition broadened the product lines offered by Wahl to include smaller precast shapes and a range of castable products.  Wahl retains the intellectual property and trademarks originally held by Whetstone Technology.

With expertise in refractory precast shapes and unmatched engineering capabilities, Wahl delivers cost-effective and reliable solutions for refractory applications throughout the industrial world.
